    LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 9, 2003--

ARC International plc - Trading Update

ARC International plc (LSE: ARK), a world leader in semiconductor and
software technology licensing, today announces that a number of deals
due to be closed during the first quarter of this year, have been
deferred into the second quarter, as a result of continued uncertainty
in the semiconductor industry.

The Company therefore expects group revenues for the first quarter to
be approximately £2.9m, slightly below the range of analyst
forecasts.

Complete first quarter results will be published on Wednesday 23rd
April 2003.
