Appointment of Non-Executive Director

Amlin Plc APPOINTMENT OF NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR The Board of Amlin plc ('Amlin') is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Martin (Marty) Feinstein, as an independent non-executive Director of Amlin, to take effect on 1 December 2007. Mr Feinstein, who is aged 59 and a US citizen, was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Farmers Group Inc ('Farmers') from 1997 to 2005, when he retired after 35 years' service with that group. By 2005, Farmers was the third largest property and casualty insurance group in the US, with over $14 billion in premium revenue, 17.8 million policy holders and 18,500 employees. Whilst Farmers was owned by BAT and then by Allied Zurich, he served in turn as a director of the FTSE 100 companies, B.A.T. Industries p.l.c. and Allied Zurich p.l.c., from 1997 to 1998 and 1998 to 2000 respectively. He is currently a non-executive Director of Reynolds American Inc ('Reynolds'), which is listed on the NYSE, Clear Technology Inc and GeoVera Insurance Ltd. The former two companies are incorporated in the USA and the latter in Bermuda.
