CHANGE OF CHAIRMAN OF AUDIT COMMITTEE
The Board of Amlin announces that it has appointed Mr Nigel Buchanan as Chairman
of its Audit Committee in place of Lord Stewartby, with effect from 1 September
2005. Lord Stewartby, Deputy Chairman and senior independent non-executive
Director, will remain a member of the Audit Committee.

Mr Buchanan, who is aged 61, was appointed an independent non-executive Director
of Amlin in March 2004, serving on the Audit Committee since that time (and on
the Remuneration Committee since May 2005). He is also a non-executive director
of Butterfield Bank (UK) Limited and a trustee of the Outward Bound Trust. He
retired as a senior client partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers in 2001, where he
specialised in financial services clients. He was a member of the Ethics
Standards Board of the Accounting Foundation until it was superseded in 2002.
