                            Directors' shareholdings

Following the issue of redeemable non-cumulative preference shares of 22.4p each
('B Shares') and the subdivision and consolidation of Amlin's ordinary shares of
25p each ('Old Shares') into ordinary shares of 28.125p each ('New Shares'),
both on 17 December 2007, the following are the resultant beneficial
shareholdings of Amlin's Directors in New Shares and B Shares respectively,
replacing their previous holdings of Old Shares:

In the cases of executive Directors (Messrs Carpenter, Hextall, Holt and
Philipps), the above holdings include 915 New Shares and 1,030 B Shares held on
each such Director's behalf by the trustee of Amlin's Share Incentive Plan.
Holdings also include, when applicable, beneficial holdings of spouses.

None of the percentage shareholdings have changed, and nor have there been any
Directors' dealings. This announcement is made as a matter of record only.
