                    Awards under share-based incentive plans

On 7 March 2007 certain Amlin executive Directors and other Persons Discharging
Managerial Responsibilities ('PDMRs') were granted conditional awards under the
Company's Performance Share Plan 2004 ('PSP') and Long Term Incentive Plan 2006
('New LTIP') entitling them to acquire the numbers of Amlin ordinary shares
('Shares') set out below, in each case at a nominal price of £1 in total per
exercise.

Details of the basis of the performance conditions in respect of the PSP were
set out in previous Annual Reports and those in respect of the New LTIP were set
out in the circular containing the Notice of the 2006 Annual General Meeting
issued in March 2006. Depending on the extent to which performance conditions
are satisfied, and subject to continuing employment in the Amlin Group, the PSP
awards will normally be exercisable between March and September 2012 and the New
LTIP awards between March and September 2010. Awards under the PSP are only made
to executive Directors and senior employees who are not underwriters, and
therefore who are not eligible for the separate (usually cash-based) incentive
schemes operated by the Group for underwriters. Awards under the New LTIP are
made to both underwriters and non-underwriters in place of executive share
option grants made to executive Directors and PDMRs in previous years.
