CHANGE IN EMPLOYEE SHARE OWNERSHIP TRUST HOLDING

Between 13th and 16th March 2006 the Group's Employee Share Ownership Trust
('ESOT') transferred a total of 1,060,255 Amlin plc ordinary shares of 25p each
('Shares') to Directors and other employees on the exercise of share options.
Those of such exercises which were by Directors and other Persons Discharging
Managerial Responsibilities have been disclosed and announced separately so far
as their personal interests are concerned.

In addition to changes in their own personal interests, each of the executive
Directors of Amlin plc ('Amlin') have technically ceased to be interested in
such 1,060,255 Shares as a result of them no longer being held by the ESOT.
Following the transfers, the total number of Shares that the ESOT now holds is
1,132,139 (0.21% of the Shares in issue).

The executive Directors of Amlin are Messrs B D Carpenter, R A Hextall, A W Holt
and C E L Philipps.

Note: for Companies Act purposes, the executive Directors of Amlin are deemed to
have a technical interest in Shares held by the ESOT. The interest through the
ESOT ceases when Shares are transferred to individuals who exercise their
options.
