Issue of B shares and Consolidation

Amlin Plc Amlin plc Issue of B Shares and Consolidation of Existing Ordinary Shares On 14 November 2007, Amlin plc ('Amlin') announced its intention to return approximately £120 million of capital to shareholders (the 'Return of Capital'), subject to shareholder approval, by way of a B share issue combined with a consolidation of Amlin's existing ordinary shares on the basis of 8 new ordinary shares for 9 existing ordinary shares. On 12 December 2007, Amlin announced that the shareholders had approved the Return of Capital at the Extraordinary General Meeting of Amlin held that day. A total of 537,464,619 B shares were issued today, following which 537,464,619 existing issued ordinary shares were consolidated into 477,746,328 new ordinary shares.
