UPDATE ON ISSUED SHARE CAPITAL

Following issues of shares resulting from recent exercises of share options, the
issued share capital of Amlin plc is now 531,958,352 Ordinary Shares of 25p
each, of which 127,805,073 shares (being those issued in the November 2005
rights issue) do not rank for the final dividend in respect of 2005 for which
the record date is 31 March 2006. From 3 April 2006, there will be no
distinction between the shares issued in the rights issue and the remainder of
Amlin plc's Ordinary Shares of 25p each.
