                      TOTAL VOTING RIGHTS AND SHARE CAPITAL

In accordance with the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules, Amlin plc
('Amlin') advises the market that its issued capital as at today consists of
535,100,977 ordinary shares of 25p each fully paid ('shares'). The voting rights
of all these shares are identical, with each share carrying the right to one
vote. Amlin holds no treasury shares.

The increase in shares in issue during April 2007 results from exercises of
share options and the issue of 533,940 shares to the trustee of the Company's
Share Incentive Plan. Such issues are included within relevant listings granted
by the UK Listing Authority and the London Stock Exchange.

The above figure of 535,100,977 may be used by shareholders as the denominator
for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify
their interest in, or a change to their interest in, Amlin under the FSA's
Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
