TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

Amlin plc (“Amlin”) announces that on 9 July 2009 it transferred from treasury to participants in its employee share option scheme(s), the following numbers of its ordinary shares of 28.125 pence each (“ordinary shares”):

4,876 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 134.11 pence per share;
304 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 246.00 pence per share; and304 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 246.00 pence per share; and
1,953 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 266.00 pence per share; 1,953 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 266.00 pence per share;

Following the above transfer of shares out of treasury, Amlin holds a total of 8,040,314 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 494,035,692 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
