TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

Amlin plc (“Amlin”) announces that on 1 December 2008 it transferred from treasury to participants in its employee share option scheme(s), the following numbers of its ordinary shares of 28.125 pence each (“ordinary shares”):

338,456 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 146.49 pence per share.

Following the above transfer of shares out of treasury, Amlin holds a total of 9,208,554 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 469,364,885 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
