TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

Amlin plc (“Amlin”) announces that on 19 March 2009 it transferred from treasury to participants in its employee share option scheme(s), the following numbers of its ordinary shares of 28.125 pence each (“ordinary shares”):

35,971 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 161.77 pence per share; and

5,106 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 146.49 pence per share

Following the above transfer of shares out of treasury, Amlin holds a total of 8,613,700 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 469,959,739 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
