TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

Amlin plc (“Amlin”) announces that on 18 December 2008 it transferred from treasury to participants in its employee share option scheme(s), the following numbers of its ordinary shares of 28.125 pence each (“ordinary shares”):

28,333 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 146.49 pence per share

Following the above transfer of shares out of treasury, Amlin holds a total of 8,768,016 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 469,805,423 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
