TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

Amlin plc (“Amlin”) announces that on 17 December 2009 it transferred from treasury to participants in its employee share option scheme(s), the following numbers of its ordinary shares of 28.125 pence each (“ordinary shares”):

12,561 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 152.85 pence per share;

33,024 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 161.77 pence per share; and

1,340 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 246.00 pence per share

Following the above transfer of shares out of treasury, Amlin holds a total of 7,189,053 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 494,886,953 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
