                           TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

Amlin plc ('Amlin') announces that on 4 November 2008 it transferred from
treasury to participants in its employee share option scheme(s), the following
numbers of its ordinary shares of 28.125 pence each ('ordinary shares'):

57,441 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 110.82 pence per share;

24,642 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 152.85 pence per share; and

12,762 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 161.77 pence per share.

Following the above transfer of shares out of treasury, Amlin holds a total of
9,883,886 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 468,689,553 ordinary shares
in issue (excluding treasury shares).
