TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

Amlin plc (“Amlin”) announces that on 26 August 2009 it transferred from treasury to participants in its employee share option scheme(s), the following numbers of its ordinary shares of 28.125 pence each (“ordinary shares”):

5,000 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 110.82 pence per share;
41,216 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 152.85 pence per share; and41,216 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 152.85 pence per share; and
18,516 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 293.00 pence per share; 18,516 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 293.00 pence per share;

Following the above transfer of shares out of treasury, Amlin holds a total of 7,958,515 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 494,117,491 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
