TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

Amlin plc (“Amlin”) announces that on 28 August 2009 it transferred from treasury to participants in its employee share option scheme(s), the following numbers of its ordinary shares of 28.125 pence each (“ordinary shares”):

10,281 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 152.85 pence per share; and
20,973 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 293.00 pence per share 20,973 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 293.00 pence per share

Following the above transfer of shares out of treasury, Amlin holds a total of 7,909,028 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 494,166,978 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
