TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

Amlin plc (“Amlin”) announces that on 8 September 2009 it transferred from treasury to participants in its employee share option scheme(s), the following numbers of its ordinary shares of 28.125 pence each (“ordinary shares”):

1,914 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 161.77 pence per share; and

53,636 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 293.00 pence per share

Following the above transfer of shares out of treasury, Amlin holds a total of 7,824,110 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 494,251,896 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
