TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

Amlin plc (“Amlin”) announces that on 14 September 2009 it transferred from treasury to participants in its employee share option scheme(s), the following numbers of its ordinary shares of 28.125 pence each (“ordinary shares”):

61,628 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 152.85p pence per share;

131,543 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 161.77 pence per share; and

109,557 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 293.00 pence per share

Following the above transfer of shares out of treasury, Amlin holds a total of 7,498,139 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 494,577,867 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
