TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

Amlin plc (“Amlin”) announces that on 8 May 2009 it transferred from treasury to participants in its employee share option scheme(s), the following numbers of its ordinary shares of 28.125 pence each (“ordinary shares”):

2,940 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 146.49 pence per share;

8,228 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 161.77 pence per share;

880 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 266.00 pence per share; and

19,130 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 293.00 pence per share

Following the above transfer of shares out of treasury, Amlin holds a total of 8,190,729 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 470,382,710 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
