TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

Amlin plc (“Amlin”) announces that on 12 February 2009 it transferred from treasury to participants in its employee share option scheme(s), the following numbers of its ordinary shares of 28.125 pence each (“ordinary shares”):

11,539 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 146.49 pence per share;

121 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 246.00 pence per share;

1,815 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 266.00p per share; and

18,516 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 293.00 pence per share

Following the above transfer of shares out of treasury, Amlin holds a total of 8,678,830 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 469,894,609 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
