TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

Amlin plc (“Amlin”) announces that on 9 June 2009 it transferred from treasury to participants in its employee share option scheme(s), the following numbers of its ordinary shares of 28.125 pence each (“ordinary shares”):

5,000 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 109.09 pence per share;

4,583 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 134.11 pence per share;

3,012 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 146.49 pence per share; and

459 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 266.00 pence per share;

Following the above transfer of shares out of treasury, Amlin holds a total of 8,115,961 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 493,960,045 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
