TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

Amlin plc (“Amlin”) announces that on 23 August 2012 it transferred from treasury to participants in its employee share option scheme(s), the following numbers of its ordinary shares of 28.125 pence each (“ordinary shares”):

8,617 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 266.00 pence per share.

5,323 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 110.82 pence per share.

Following the above transfer of shares out of treasury, Amlin holds a total of 5,145,474 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 496,930,532 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
