Byotrol Secures CE Mark for Disinfectant Products
The AIM-quoted biocidal technology company Byotrol plc ('the Company') has won a
key authorisation allowing it to sell disinfectant products into the European
medical market for the first time.
The Company has been awarded CE Marking status, meaning it can now supply its
biocidal products for use in disinfectant sprays, wipes and foams.
The CE Mark, found on product labels throughout Europe, indicates that products
comply with the relevant requirements of European health, safety and
environmental protection legislation.
Byotrol Deputy Chairman Stephen Falder said: 'This represents a major milestone
for the Company and allows our technology to be sold into the healthcare
industry on a pan European basis. As well as opening up business opportunities
in Europe, it also means we can sell to UK based companies with European
operations that want to deploy a single hygiene regime across their business.'
Byotrol has developed unique, patented technology for killing dangerous microbes
such as MRSA, Listeria, Legionella and E.coli as well as ordinary household
germs. Uniquely, it provides continuing protection once applied and does not
harm organisms larger than microbes.
The new approval also allows the use of the CE Mark by third party suppliers
using Byotrol as an ingredient brand in their own products - removing the need
for separate additional clearance, and further increasing the size of the
potential market.
