                  Centrica plc executive director share interest declaration

Nick Luff, who was appointed Group Finance Director of Centrica plc today, has
disclosed, that, on appointment, he had an interest in 200,000 ordinary shares
of 6 14/81 pence each in Centrica plc. These shares were purchased by Mr Luff,
following the preliminary announcement and the subsequent presentation of the
Company's results on 22 February 2007, at an average price of 385.4066 pence.
