Centrica appoints non-executive director
Centrica plc is pleased to announce that Michael Linn is to be appointed a Non-Executive Director of the company with effect from 1 June 2013. Mr Linn will become a member of Centrica's Audit, Nominations and Remuneration Committees.
Mr Linn founded LINN Energy, LLC, in 2003 and served as President, CEO and Chairman through to 2009, becoming Executive Chairman in 2010. In 2012 he stood down as Chairman and continues to serve on the Board as Non-Executive Director. Under his leadership LINN Energy became a top 10 publicly funded E&P company in the United States with a market capitalisation of over $7 billion and revenues of $1.7 billion. He is also a Director of Nabors Industries and senior advisor to Quantum Energy Partners.
Mr Linn sits on the National Petroleum Council and the Board of the Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPAA). He is a Texas representative for the Legal and Regulatory Affairs Committee of the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission and serves on the Natural Gas Council.

Mike Linn is a Director and Founder on the board of LINN Energy, LLC where he previously served as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer as well as Executive Chairman. Mr Linn founded LINN Energy in 2003 and the company became the first publicly traded E&P partnership in 2006. He is also the President of MCL Ventures, LC, an investment company; senior advisor to Quantum Energy Partners, a private equity and venture capital firm; and a director of Nabors Industries which is headquartered in the US and listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
He serves on the National Petroleum Council and the board of the Independent Petroleum Association of America. He is also a Texas representative for the Legal and Regulatory Affairs Committee of the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission. He was previous chairman and currently serves on the Natural Gas Council and, in the past, has also been a director of the Natural Gas Supply Association and President of the Independent Oil and Gas Associations of New York, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
Mr Linn also has a number of civic interests which include being a member of the board of trustees for the Texas Heart Institute, Texas Children’s Hospital and Museum of Fine Arts, Houston and a director of Houston Children’s Charity and the Houston Police Foundation.
