Centrica notification of trading update

In line with best practice, the Board of Centrica plc has agreed that in future
Centrica will issue pre-close trading updates ahead of its preliminary and
interim results. Centrica will issue its first such statement on 10 December
2004 ahead of entering a close period on 31 December 2004.

The company will announce its preliminary results for 2004 on 24 February 2005.
