Secretary of State approves undertakings

Centrica has welcomed today's announcement by the Secretary of State that
agreement has been reached on behavioural undertakings that will apply under
Centrica's ownership of the Rough gas storage facility.

Chief Executive Sir Roy Gardner said: 'We are delighted that this process has
been concluded as we always maintained that mutually acceptable undertakings
could address any competition concerns. The announcement ends any uncertainty
for our customers, shareholders and the staff who work on the facility.'
