Appointment of Director

The Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs Hélène Ploix as a Director effective from the Fund’s forthcoming Annual General Meeting. This appointment is subject to the usual regulatory notifications.

Hélène Ploix is currently Chairman of Paris-based private equity investment firm Pechel Industries, a role which she has held since 1997, and of Pechel Industries Partenaires, a private equity management company, since 2004. She is currently a member of the Advisory Board of Publicis, a Non-Executive Director of BNP Paribas, Lafarge and Belgian investment company Sofina, and was previously a member of a number of company Boards including The Boots Company PLC. She was also formerly a member of the Investment Committee of the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund. She has published several articles on corporate governance and business ethics. Previously Mrs Ploix’s career in finance included six years as Deputy Managing Director of the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations; serving as an Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund and of the World Bank; and acting as a Special Advisor to the French Prime Minister on economic and financial affairs. Formerly she was Chairman and CEO of Banque Industrielle et Mobilière Privée, and she began her professional career as a consultant at McKinsey & Co. Mrs Ploix was educated at the Institut d’Etudes Politiques, the University of California at Berkeley, and INSEAD.
