Slough Estates PLC Appointment of Thom Wernink as Non-Executive Director of Slough Estates plc Slough Estates plc is pleased to announce that Mr. Thom Wernink has been appointed a non-executive director with effect from 23rd May 2005. Mr. Wernink, who is a Dutch citizen and is a very well-known figure in the Dutch property market, is aged 59. He was until April 2005 Chairman of the European Public Real Estate Association and was a former Chairman of Corio NV. He has a wide experience of managing properties in Holland and other European countries. Commenting on the appointment, Sir Nigel Mobbs said: 'We are delighted to have Thom Wernink join the Board. His considerable experience of real estate development and investment will be of great benefit to Slough Estates in growing its European business.' Notes to Editors Thom Wernink has been working in real estate investment since 1978, latterly as Chairman of Corio N.V. having worked at the company from 1993 to 2003. When he joined Corio it had a Euro 500m portfolio of retail, office and industrial properties across Europe, the US and Canada and he was responsible for completely restructuring and increasing the portfolio of the company. He completed the sale of the Canadian and US portfolios and used these resources for investing in Europe, primarily in the Netherlands and France. During this period Corio acquired Innovest and WBN and focused the business into the retail property sector. Prior to Corio N.V. Thom Wernink worked in real estate for C. van Zadelhoff.
