Smurfit Kappa Group plc ('SKG' or the 'Group'), one of the world's largest
integrated manufacturers of paper-based packaging products with operations in
Europe and Latin America, today announced that it will release 2008 first
quarter results on Friday, May 09, 2008 at 07.00 BST (02.00 ET).

The Smurfit Kappa senior management team will discuss 2008 first quarter
financial performance with international analysts & institutional investors on a
conference call scheduled for 14.30 BST (09.30 ET) on that date.
