NON-EXECUTIVE BOARD CHANGES AT ST. JAMES’S PLACE

St. James’s Place plc (“SJP”), the wealth management group, announces the appointment of Baroness Wheatcroft as an independent non-executive Director with effect from 2 April 2012.* It also announces the retirement of Roger Walsom, a non-executive director since 2005, who will not be seeking re-election at the AGM in May and therefore will leave the SJP Board on 8 May.

Patience brings a wealth of business, board and senior management experience and her appointment is an important further step in the ongoing development of the SJP Board. On behalf of the Board, I would also like to thank Roger for his substantial contribution over the last 7 years”.

Baroness Wheatcroft, a member of the House of Lords and a senior financial journalist was previously Editor-in-Chief at the Wall Street Journal, Europe. She is the former Editor of the Sunday Telegraph and was Business and City Editor of The Times between 1997 and 2006. She has been a non-executive Director of Barclays Group plc and Shaftesbury plc.

SJP confirms that there are no details to be disclosed under Section 9.6.13R (2) - (6) of the Listing Rules in relation to this appointment.
