Tate & Lyle PLC was informed on 8 November 2002 that ordinary shares
in Tate & Lyle PLC were acquired on 8 November 2002 by directors of
Tate & Lyle PLC as follows:
Sir David Lees, Non-Executive Chairman of Tate & Lyle PLC, had
acquired 5,000 ordinary shares in Tate & Lyle PLC at 327.25 pence per
share. Sir David Lees now has an interest in 35,000 ordinary shares in
Tate & Lyle PLC.
Mr Larry Pillard, an Executive Director and Chief Executive of Tate &
Lyle PLC, had acquired 3,000 ordinary shares in Tate & Lyle PLC at 317
pence per share and 2,000 ordinary shares in Tate & Lyle PLC at 321
pence per share. Mr Pillard now has an interest in 17,374 ordinary
shares in Tate & Lyle PLC.
Mr Simon Gifford, an Executive Director and Group Finance Director
of Tate & Lyle PLC, had acquired 5,000 ordinary shares in Tate & Lyle
PLC at 318 pence per share. Mr Gifford now has an interest in 160,659
ordinary shares in Tate & Lyle PLC.
