Tate & Lyle PLC was informed on 30 December 2002 by the Manager of the
Tate & Lyle PLC Corporate Personal Equity Plans ('PEPs') that on 23
December 2002 purchases of Tate & Lyle Ordinary shares were made at a
price of 316.83 pence per share for three Directors of Tate & Lyle PLC
as detailed below.
27 Tate & Lyle Ordinary shares were bought for PEPs owned by Mr Simon
Gifford who now has an interest in 160,686 Ordinary shares in Tate &
Lyle PLC.
10 Tate & Lyle Ordinary shares were bought for PEPs owned by Mr Stuart
Strathdee who now has an interest in 31,340 Ordinary shares in Tate &
Lyle PLC.
11 Tate & Lyle Ordinary shares were bought for PEPs owned by Mr John H
W Walker who now has an interest in 25,437 Ordinary shares in Tate &
Lyle PLC.
