Tate & Lyle Chief Executive

As previously announced, Larry Pillard will stand down as Chief
Executive on 31 December 2002 to take up the position of Executive
Chairman of the Tetra Laval Group. He will remain on the Board of Tate
& Lyle as a Non-Executive Director. Pending the appointment of his
successor, the role of Acting Chief Executive will, with effect from 1
January 2003, be assumed by Simon Gifford, Group Finance Director.
