Senior Independent Director

Tate & Lyle PLC announces that Richard Delbridge, a non-executive director of Tate & Lyle PLC, will retire from the Board at the Annual General Meeting on 22 July 2010 following ten years of service. Richard Delbridge is currently the Senior Independent Director.

Robert Walker, an independent non-executive director who has been on the Board since 2006 will replace Richard Delbridge as the Senior Independent Director at the conclusion of this year’s Annual General Meeting.

This disclosure is made in accordance with LR 9.6.11 R of the FSA’s Listing Rules.
