its subsidiaries held 28,378,115 ordinary shares in Tate & Lyle PLC on
24 April 2003 which is a notifiable interest under Section 199 of the
Companies Act 1985, being 5.89 per cent. of the nominal value of the
relevant share capital, reduced from their holding on 3 April 2003 of
29,234,298 ordinary shares which was then 6.06% of the nominal value
of the relevant share capital.
