Holding(s) in Company

Tate & Lyle PLC ('the Company') was informed on 3 June 2005 that Deutsche Bank
AG and its subsidiary companies no longer have a notifiable interest in the
ordinary share capital of the Company.

Deutsche Bank AG had previously reported holding 14,614,904 ordinary shares in
the Company as at 22 April 2005 in which they had a notifiable interest which
was then 3.00 per cent of the ordinary share capital.
