Voting Rights and Capital

In conformity with Paragraph 5.6.1R of the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency
Rules, Tate & Lyle PLC (the 'Company') would like to notify the market of the
following:

The Company's issued capital as at 30 November 2007 consisted of 475,456,499
ordinary shares of which 2,015,000 were held in Treasury.

Therefore, the total number of voting rights in the Company as at 30 November
2007 was 473,441,499 and this figure may be used by shareholders as the
denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are
required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, Tate &
Lyle PLC under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
