           Bovis Homes Group PLC's Chairman, Sir Nigel Mobbs

Bovis Homes Group PLC announces that following further tests, it is clear that
Sir Nigel Mobbs' illness is more serious than originally thought.

The good wishes and thoughts of everyone at Bovis Homes are with Sir Nigel and
his Family.

Tim Melville-Ross, the senior independent non-executive director will remain as
acting Chairman until such time as the position is clarified.
