Notification of Change in Directors' Interests - section 324 Companies Act 1985

Young & Co.'s Brewery, P.L.C. ("the Company")

1. On 3 August 2004, consequent upon the transfer of 308,160 B ordinary shares
of 50p each ("the Shares") from the Estate of Mr. George A R Bird deceased to
the Trustees of the William Allen Young Charitable Trust, the Company received
the following notifications given in accordance with section 198 Companies Act
1985:-

(a) from the Executors of Mr. George A R Bird, that they had ceased to be
interested in the Shares; and

(b) from Mr. John Young, Mr. James Young and Mr. Thomas Young that they were now
interested in 804,183 B ordinary shares of 50p each in their capacity as trustee
of the William Allen Young Charitable Trust representing 19.50% of that class.

2. The Company also received notifications given in accordance with section 324
Companies Act 1985 from each of Mr J A Young and Mr J G A Young that, consequent
upon the said transfer, they were interested in 804,183 B ordinary shares of 50p
each and 11,912 Non-voting ordinary shares of 50p each in their capacity as
trustees of the William Allen Young Charitable Trust.
