                  Notification of a major interest in shares under transitional provision 7 of the
DTR Sourcebook in relation to 'A' ordinary shares of 50p each in Young & Co.'s
Brewery, P.L.C. (ISIN: GB0009882035) (the "Company")

Pursuant to transitional provision 8 of the DTR Sourcebook, we, Young & Co.'s
Brewery, P.L.C., advise receipt of the following notification on 5 March 2007
from Thomas fflorance Barrow Young:

"Pursuant to transitional provision 7 of the DTR Sourcebook, I, Thomas fflorance
Barrow Young, hereby notify you that immediately after the time when the
obligation to make this notification arose:

A. I held (as shareholder and as the direct or indirect holder of financial
instruments) 1,151,073 voting rights in the Company, being 15.84% of the voting
rights;

B. I held (as direct or indirect shareholder (disregarding for these purposes
holdings of financial instruments)) 1,151,073 voting rights in the Company,
being 15.84% of the voting rights; and

C. I held (as direct or indirect holder of financial instruments) 0 voting
rights in the Company, being 0% of the voting rights.

Of those:

● 114,288 are held by me directly as a result of 114,288 A Shares being
registered in my name;

● 928,685 are held by me directly as a result of:

(a) 20,160 A Shares being registered in the joint names of John Anthony
Goldsmith and me;

(b) 804,183 A Shares being registered in the joint names of John Allen Young, me
and James Guillaume Allen Young;

(c) 2,851 A Shares being registered in the joint names of me and my wife, Helena
Elizabeth Maitland Young;

(d) 8,687 A Shares being registered in the joint names of me and James Guillaume
Allen Young;

(e) 2,804 A Shares being registered in the joint names of The Estate of GAR
Bird, me, Elizabeth Anne Gordon and Christopher Phillip Walsh;

(f) 90,000 A Shares being registered in the joint names of me, Elizabeth Anne
Gordon and Christopher Phillip Walsh;

● 108,100 are held by me indirectly as a result of:

(a) 1,000 A Shares being registered in the name of Roy Summers;

(b) 1,000 A Shares being registered in the name of Stephen Frederick Goodyear;
and

(c) 106,100 A Shares being registered in the name of Chase (GA Group) Nominees
Limited.

Words or expressions used in the Disclosure and Transparency Rules have the same
meaning when used in this notification, and references to "A Shares" are to 'A'
ordinary shares of 50p each in the Company."
