In accordance with Listing Rule 9.6.14, the Board of Aberforth Smaller
Companies Trust plc announces that that Richard Rae, a non-executive director
of the Company, has been appointed as a non-executive director of Chaarat Gold
Holdings Limited ("Chaarat") with immediate effect. Richard Rae will also join
Chaarat's Audit and Remuneration Committees.
