Commenting on the markets, Adam Ryan, representing the Investment Manager noted:
October saw weakness across a range of markets including sovereign bonds and global equities as investors focused on rate hikes in the US and uncertainty around the outcome of the US Presidential election. Emerging markets were little changed, whilst the UK stock market was supported by the weakness of Sterling as the political debate around Brexit negotiations intensified. Positive contributors to performance came from our exposure to European banking shares, and select global equities. Detractors came from our UK equities which underperformed the broader market as well as our UK corporate bonds and gold. We have elected to reduce some of our UK credit holdings and have begun adding to alternative investments related to renewable energy.
