Dividend Declaration

Alliance Trust PLC has declared a third interim dividend of 2.0 pence per share
payable on 2 February 2009 to shareholders on the register on 5 January 2009.
The ex-dividend date is 31 December 2008.

This dividend is in line with that indicated in our Annual Report and Accounts
for the year ended 31 January 2008.
