Dividend Declaration

Alliance Trust PLC announces the declaration of a fourth interim dividend of
2.075 pence per share payable on 1 April 2010 to shareholders on the register
on 5 March 2010. The ex-dividend date is 3 March 2010.

Taken together with the three previous interim dividends, each of 2.025 pence,
the total dividend payable for the year ended 31 January 2010 will therefore be
8.15 pence per share, up from 8.0 pence per share (excluding the special
dividend paid in July 2009) for the year ended 31 January 2009.
