Dividend Declaration

Alliance Trust PLC announces declaration of a first interim dividend of 2.0
pence per share payable on 31 July 2008 to shareholders on the register on 4
July 2008. The ex-dividend date is 2 July 2008.

This dividend is in line with that indicated in our Annual Report and Accounts
for the year ended 31 January 2008.
