Following its announcement of 27 July 2011 Ashtead Group plc ("Ashtead") today
announces the appointment of Suzanne Wood as Group Finance Director replacing
Ian Robson who resigned as a director of Ashtead as of close of business on 13
July 2012 following his retirement.

In accordance with paragraph 9.6.13(1)-(6) of the Listing Rules, Suzanne
advises that she was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of
Oakwood Homes Corp (during which period it filed for bankruptcy in 2002).
Suzanne has no further details to disclose.
