Board Appointment and Board changes
Avingtrans Plc, the designer, manufacturer and supplier of critical components
and associated services to the medical, energy, industrial and global aerospace
sectors, is delighted to announce the appointment of Stephen ("Steve")
McQuillan as chief executive officer. The Group believes the appointment of
this highly regarded and experienced figure will bolster the strength of the
management team as Avingtrans continues to exploit the excellent prospects in
its respective markets going forward.
Steve McQuillan, age 47, will commence his duties as CEO from 1st October 2008.
He brings extensive expertise to the Group from the engineering and technology
sectors as he was previously managing director of Serco Defence Operations, a
leading integrated service solutions provider to the worldwide defence and
aerospace markets, from 2005 to 2008. Prior to this, Stephen was the managing
director of Oxford Instruments Superconductivity Ltd, a subsidiary of Oxford
Instruments plc, the designer, manufacturer and support services provider of
high technology tools and systems for industry research, space, energy and
healthcare sectors.
In conjunction with this appointment, Roger McDowell, who has been acting chief
executive and non-executive chairman during the interim period, will revert to
non-executive chairman as from 1st October 2008.
Roger McDowell commented:

Steve McQuillan commented:
