The European Investment Trust plc (the "Company")

The Company was notified on 1 July 2014 that Dr Michael Woodward, a
non-executive Director of the Company, purchased 1,911 ordinary shares of the
Company on 1 July 2014, for inclusion in a New ISA, at a price of £7.799738 
per ordinary share.

As a result of this transaction, Dr Michael Woodward is now interested in a
total of 3,634 ordinary shares, representing 0.009% of the total voting rights.
